Seek & Hide

Taking the supernatural beliefs of Antoinette de Bach-van Loon as a starting point, the 17th-century paintings from the Van Loon collection are respectively covered with Vaseline, hand-coloured “aura” stickers and the projection of the Van Loon’s heirs upon their ancestors’ portraits.

Site-specific works commissioned by the Museum van Loon, Amsterdam, for the solo exhibition ‘Seek & Hide’. A series of four life-size photographs replaced the originals in the museum rooms.
