LA LA LA LA  (artist’s book)

In LA LA LA LA Laurence Aëgerter isolated 16 stills from several existing karaoke videos. Text and images form alienating combinations, which becomes even more apparent when the frames are isolated. The selection of the stills form a kaleidoscopic tableau of feelings, varying from lightheartedness and humour to absurdity and melancholy.

Aëgerter makes no distinction between a karaoke video and a museum catalogue. They are both treated equally as an inspiring source for her work.
