Freedom<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>(de)coding Freedom<\/em>\u00a0is A\u00ebgerter\u2019s second interpretation of Delacroix\u2019s painting \u2018La Libert\u00e9 Guidant le peuple\u2019 (photographed in the artist\u2019s book <em>Catalogue des chefs-d\u2019oeuvre du Mus\u00e9e du Louvre<\/em>, 2009).<br \/>\nThis photograph responds to the large amount of didactic images found on the Internet that all propose a rational understanding of the masterpiece.<\/p>\n<p>Different hands define the main lines of the painting\u2019s composition in a possible geometry of symbols, placing the icon of the triumphant republic at the heart of an official study, in close proximity to the public code.<br \/>\nAnother referent source being subject to a variety of interpretations.<\/p>\n<p>Related
