aria-hidden=\"false\"><div class='tab_inner_content invers-color'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><em>Compositions s<\/em><em>ynesth\u00e9tiques<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This project\u00a0investigates the perception and interpretation of an artwork. A\u00ebgerter superimposes geometric layers on top of some of her favorite masterpieces, reproduced in their original size. These layers in raised effect textures invite the viewer to touch the surface of the work. Following the principle of synesthesia, both senses of sight and tactility are simultaneously stimulated to enhance the perception of the artwork.<\/p>\n<p>This new series follows up on A\u00ebgerter\u2019s long term research as seen in <a href=\"https:\/\/laurenceaegerter.com\/artwork\/portfolio-item\/le-louvre\/\"><em>Le Louvre<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/laurenceaegerter.com\/artwork\/portfolio-item\/het-apparaat\/\"><em>Het Apparaat<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/laurenceaegerter.com\/artwork\/portfolio-item\/hermitage-the-modernists\/\"><em>Hermitage the Modernists<\/em><\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/laurenceaegerter.com\/artwork\/portfolio-item\/decoding-freedom-2\/\"><em>(de)coding Freedom<\/em><\/a>, where she photographed paintings with spectators and objects becoming part of the works.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016 A\u00ebgerter was asked by Mister Motley to compose <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mistermotley.nl\/salon\/laurence-a%C3%ABgerter-decompositions\">an online exposition<\/a>. She did this with images she found on the internet.\u00a0The idea\u00a0for\u00a0<em>Compositions Synesth\u00e9tiques\u00a0<\/em>originates in these images.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/section>\n<section
