Aëgerter has laid out found objects from the beach upon which she grew up in Marseille onto the illustrations of the book Les Merveilles du Louvre (Hachette, Paris, 1958).
Louvre Plage photographs give the treasures of the Louvre museum a new dimension. The timelessness of the familiar objects collide with the iconic masterpieces. The eroded objects from different eras raise awareness about the transience of the found objects as well as that of the masterpieces.
The full series of 25 images is gathered in an archival box edition together with a selection of little stones and shells from the same beach.
