Confetti, 2019

Confetti is a joyous memento mori comprised of the 58,038 photographs stored in Laurence Aëgerter’s mobile phone over the past ten years. Each is reduced to the size of a piece of confetti, rendering the images practically imperceptible. Through this symbolic, playful metaphor, the artist reshapes her personal story. The memories reactivated in this way obtain a new sense of freedom. Confetti is a growing archive, which Laurence Aëgerter intends to add to throughout her life.

The 58038 confetti pieces are printed double sided.
