Pietre Paesine is a series of six tapestries, created in the wake of the monumental tapestry Epic of the Mind.
The tapestries are reflecting themes that run throughout her work, such as memory, the passage of time, and human fragility.
Aëgerter incorporates elements from the archives of Het museum van de Geest (Haarlem) as apparitions in a dream.
‘Pietre paesine’ are ‘landscape stones’, limestones with naturally occurring patterns that resemble sceneries.
These Jacquard tapestries are made with mixed yarns including mohair yarns and phosphorescent yarns (glow-in-the-dark).
These yarns create latent images that reveal themselves in the dark.
